Savanna Springs, Chatfield, MN
12/31/2025 at 1:30pm; wintry mix precipitation; 28 feels like 10, 14 mph winds I arrive cold and uncertain, but feel a wave of relief as soon as my feet hit the trail. I keep moving at first—hearing plows, children’s voices, wind—following tracks through the snow. Small things give me pause: frozen sap, flakes, pinecones, adorable animal prints intersecting my own. I stop, then move again, until the pines pull me into stillness. I linger there, softened, noticing how life repeats in quiet ways. I leave remembering that there is always something new to discover. This is joy! |
